Giveaway! Effie's Homemade Oatcakes and Corncakes
Remember my post a few weeks ago where I raved about these delicious oatcakes made by a local Bostonian company? Oatcakes that sort of reminded me of a less nobby version of Hob Nobs?
The kind folks at Effie's have agreed to give away TWO PACKAGES of their delicious biscuits to one lucky winner! You'll get to try a package of the corn cakes and also a package of the oat cakes.
In order to enter, please comment below telling me your favorite cookie growing up. As a child, my mom never really baked that much at home because she didn't love sweets (most Asian do not!). I did love anything made with Oreos, my favorite being Cookies & Cream ice cream!
For more chances to enter, you can do any of the following:
1. Retweet the Giveaway
2. Become a Facebook Friend of Tiny Urban Kitchen
3. Subscribe via RSS
For each additional entry, please post another comment letting me know which one you did.
Thanks! I will leave this open until Thursday night, MIDNIGHT. Winner will be announced on Friday.
Good luck!

Great giveaway! My favorite cookie growing up were plain old double chocolate chip cookies with macadamia nuts. It still is.
ReplyDeletei like chocolate chip cookies that are soft and chewy with a ton of dark chocolate chips in them 90% chips 10% whatever to hold it together
ReplyDeleteI loved chocolate chip cookies - and still do!
ReplyDeleteI love oatmeal scotchies--it's the recipe from the bag of butterscotch chips, and they are yummy!
ReplyDeleteI subscribe via Google Reader.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, I absolutely loved Oreos but hated the cream. I would sort of suffer through the cream first and then dunk the cookies into milk. Delish!

ReplyDeleteI looved Girl Scout cookies, especially Thin Mints!

ReplyDeleteMy grandmother made "Crybaby Cookies" with molasses, butterscotch chips and raisins and I loved them. No matter how many times I've tried to make them, they just don't taste the same. That missing ingredient of grandma's love is the difference, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteMy mom made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies growing up - they're a favorite for nostalgic reasons :)
ReplyDeleteYum, I can't wait to get up to Boston and try some of those! Favorite cookie was snickerdoodle, hands down. Thanks for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLove these oatcakes! My fave childhood cookie has to be homemade oatmeal raisin cookies. (It's even better when you make ice cream sandwiches out of them!)
ReplyDeleteI have these oat cakes at the farmers market but never tried them! They look yummy! As I kid, I loved my grandmother's almond crescents the best - so crumbly and sweet.
ReplyDeleteand am now a Facebook fan too!
ReplyDeleteOh and I have subscribed by RSS!
ReplyDeleteOh I love hobnobs and hope I get to try these! My fave cookie as a kid was Fig Newtons- mainly because my parents had us convinced that the fig part was really chocolate and we didn't know any better....
ReplyDeleteNutter Butter!
ReplyDeleteI didn't really have sweets too much growing up either, but my favorite was strawberry shortcakes. Not a cookie, but fresh and delicious! Can't wait to try the corn and oat cakes!

ReplyDeleteOooo I loved chocolate chip cookies when I was growing up :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite cookie hands down were pepperidge farm milano cookies! i would do anything for one of those and if memory serves me correctly, I think on more than one occasion that's exactly what happened. One particular story involved 7th grade summer camp, a very silly dare, one gigantic tuba and a single slice of melted cheese and I'll just leave it at that.
ReplyDeleteOatmeal/chocolate chip made with peanut butter are the best
ReplyDeleteOoh, how fun! I used to LOVE lorna doones, and girl scout cookies (caramel delights and the pb ones) :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same situation as you, my mother doesn't care for sweets either, but I love the classic Chocolate chip cookie

ReplyDeleteOooh yum yum yum!!! I would love to try them!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have cookies in the traditional sense growing up in Singapore. But I did love this cookie imported from Korea called Margaret, which is this soft, buttery sugar cookie!

ReplyDeletethin mints girl scout cookies
ReplyDeleteMy Mom always baked, so I thought when we had Oreos... I was in heaven!
ReplyDeletehmm ... didn't have a lot of cookies growing up. my favorite at the chinese bakery was Napoleon cake from Maria's. totally not like western-styled Napoleons with a lot of cream. it was more about the cruchy puff pastry and walnuts in the cake layer.
